Final Frontier @ Ageha

Tokyo, Japan – August 3, 2013

Summary

Four stages featuring live music, DJs, circus performers, live artists, and a fashion show.

Attendance: SOLD OUT (5000+)

When Legends Share One Stage

Producer Gudni Gudnason worked for over a year on developing a unique concept where first-class music, dance, fashion, martial arts, DJ’ing, Tarot readings, juice bar and other activities came together as one immersive experience in a world-renowned nightclub. The experiment was a huge success and sold out the largest nightclub venue in Japan.

The highlight of the evening was when several music legends came together to jam on stage together. Juno Reactor, under the guiding wing of Ben Watkins, who contributed some of the most iconic music for the Matrix movies; SUGIZO, from the legendary band X Japan, brought his incredible solo guitar and electric violin to the stage; Miyavi, who acted in Angelina Jolie’s movie Unforgiven, brought his amazing rock guitar performance; Leonard Ito played mystical Taiko drums; and YUSURA, from Cirque du Soleil, danced a seductive vixen dance in her elaborate costume. At this once-in-a-lifetime event, thousands of people packed into the massive main hall to witness this supergroup performance. The frenzy created by this fusion was unprecedented.

Opened in 2002 and outfitted with custom Octagon speakers, it’s renowned for its immersive sound and internationally acclaimed artists. The main dance floor is called the Arena, and has a capacity of approximately 2,400. You can also enjoy music at the bar space Island, the outdoor poolside stage Water, the multi-purpose warehouse Box and, in summer, there’s even an exclusive beach owned by the club. Total capacity is 5000+.

While the club holds extensive techno and electro nights on weekends, on weekdays the space is used as a live music venue under the name Studio Coast. To get there via public transportation, you can take the free shuttle buses running from Shibuya and Roppongi all night and the venue is a five minute walk from the last stop, Shin Kiba, of the Yuraku-cho subway line.
